Croeso! Thank you for visiting.
I'm a mixed-media artist based in South Wales.
My work explores the emotional resonance of landscapes and flowers, blending memory with the experience of nature. Creating art has helped me through challenging times, resulting in a passion to share skills with other people. I believe in the transformational power of making art and personal development.
Since taking part in an art residency at The Place, Newport earlier this year, I am inspired by abstract expressionist painting. I am developing a process of 'way-finding' - responding to marks, shapes and colours intuitively.
I am also inspired by the Japanese idea 'wabi-sabi' – celebrating the beauty of imperfection.
Using a combination of mixed-media, mono-print, collage and different paint applications, I create rich, layered surfaces in harmonised colours that invite viewer interaction.
I collect found objects and patterns, observing my surroundings, drawing on location, allowing the environment to inform my artistic choices. Through my work, I aim to engage viewers offering a calming, yet energising experience inspired by Welsh landscapes and the natural world.
Thanks again for stopping by. Alongside creating original artwork and paintings, I also teach working with creative groups, communities, organisations and artists as well as individuals who want to re-start their creative journey.
Do you work to commissions?
Yes! Just get in touch and let me know which paintings you love and we'll talk about what you need. I also produce limited edition, archival-quality Giclee prints, including digitally printed canvas.
"My art practice complements and informs all my community arts work and collaborations. I'm always carrying a sketchbook, drawing outside in all weather."
